The Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) reference models are a set of tools that equip the Federal Government with a common language and framework to describe and analyze IT investments, enhance collaboration and ultimately transform the Federal government, as set forth in the PMA. Creating a standardized approach towards defining how each agency conducts business across the federal portfolio. The FEA is being constructed through a collection of interrelated “reference models” designed to facilitate cross-agency analysis and the identification of duplicative investments, gaps, and opportunities for collaboration within and across Federal Agencies. SOA is systemic to the FEA; however how it fits into the models is not exactly clear to all. As government agencies and government contractors attempt to decode the FEA, and SOA, they are seeking expert assistance for RFP responses, project analysis, technology selection, and just general FEA/SOA advice.
